Harriet FeBland |
IN MEMORIAM
Celebrating 5 decades and 55 solo exhibitions, FeBland exhibits world-wide in major invitationals. 10 museum collections include Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institute, State of Hawaii "Art In Public Places"; Cincinnati Art Museum; New School For Social Research Art Center, NYC with others across USA and Europe.
Brooke Barrie, Director/Curator, Grounds For Sculpture Museum, writes in their Acquisition Catalog upon acquiring a major FeBland sculpture for the museum: "Geometry is the central focus in the work of Harriet FeBland, however her approach is not strictly analytical: rather she explores the mystery and beauty of geometric forms and shapes. FeBland was drawn to this due to the belief that it is a 'universal imagery'....because of her humanization of the mathematics of shapes, Paul Mocsanyi, former director of the New School Art Center, New School for Social Research, NYC dubbed her 'the poet of geometry'.
